ACU provides entry-level comprehensive coursework, diverse clinical experiences and hands-on labs for those seeking to further their careers in athletic training services in schools, churches, hospital outreach and other settings.
The mission of these programs is to offer students a dynamic, respected education that challenges them to grow intellectually, academically, emotionally and spiritually while preparing them for successful careers. Faculty will encourage graduates to accept leadership roles.
Master of Athletic Training
Earn your Master of Athletic Training at an NCAA Division I school in just two years. Within 55-credit hours, you will apply your athletic training skills and knowledge in the areas of evidence-based practice, prevention and health promotion, clinical examination and diagnosis, acute care of injury and illness and therapeutic interventions.
The clinical experience includes working with many of ACU’s sports programs as well as traditional clinic settings, all guided by an intentional professor/student ratio to enable academic and pedagogical mentoring. The program curriculum includes information on knowledge and skills in line with Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) standards, preparing you to take the State of Texas Athletic Training Licensure and the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (BOC) exams.

ACU’s Master of Science in Athletic Training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
Master of Science in Strength, Conditioning and Human Performance
ACU’s newest edition to the health sciences field, the Master of Science in Strength, Conditioning, and Human Performance (MSSCHP), further emphasizes the profession of coaching as a service to others.
This program uses NCAA Division I level standards and Christian leadership mentalities to prepare students for stewarding others in their desires to lead a healthier lifestyle and conquer fitness milestones.
This 36-credit hour program is a strategic culmination of in-person coursework, local internship opportunities and NSCA and the CSCCa certification eligibility will equip students to become seasoned professionals in the athletic community.
